Article date: April 28,2015
This article was about Sheldon Silver being charged for obtaining over 4 million unlawful payments in his office. This indictment was originally issued in February because he did this for two law firms over the past 15 years. He was charged with: Mail fraud, Wire Fraud and extortion under the color of official right. Although Mr.Silver was nervous in the court room he was relaxed when asked questions by the press he simply replied to a specific questioned about the new charges by saying "same way".
My reaction is I honestly do not know if this man is being accused correctly because I barely know politics but to how's he's acting he seems to know that he will get away with it.
My opinion on this article is that if he was charged in February why was he not arrested in February. I know cases can take long but if he's being accused people must have evidence and should just arrested him if they believe that's there guy.
I connect this to when I went to court and I accused this guy of attempted murder. I was there and yes I seen it. However, I just received a letter in the mail saying I have to return to court. Summary: This article was about the law enforcement having sex parties with prostitutes. This article went into the concerns and dangers these parties could have been for those officers and the United States. To elaborate on the danger and how it could have been dangerous was because the parties were mostly held in government quarters. Which contained a lot of valuable information. An hearing was scheduled on April 14 for the misconduct of the DEA.
I chose this article because it something different from what everyone else would choose to write about. Meaning as everyone diverges to more political topics that may be an issue for the entire United States or an political figure, I find it more interesting to write about something that no one thinks about at all. Additionally, I also chose this article because it is interesting, in the way that sex parties with the DEA ?? Aren't they suppose to lock those people up ? Why are they having parties with them and not following through with their duties that they signed up for ? It is clear to see that tgos article made me upset because in a way it can connect to police officers and killing people. It connects in the way that power and authority is being abused.

Article Title :Chicago to pay 5 million to victims of Police Abuse

This article was about the Chicago's City Council voting in favor for victims of police harassment to get paid 5.5 million dollars. It took a good thirty years for people to get justice. There were a lot of debates between the City's Council before this decision was made. Chicago.has paid a good 500 million dollars to people for police misconduct and mistreatment. There has been a lot going on over these last years and decades with police over abusing their powers. I just can not come to fathom with the fact that they had to spend that much money on justice for victims of this kind of problem. This money could have been used to save better things such as the city's school system. I also believe that paying victims back with money does not cover the emotional hurt or time people spent incarcerated for false accusations. The governors and mayors need to come up with better laws to ensure policemen do not abuse their power and so citizens won't get hurt or harassed either. I just want it to be known that this country has a lot of fixing to do and we are a long way from it. I know we can do it with the help of understanding and trying to help each other.

For the first time in 50 years, the U.S. is allowing ferry service between Florida and Cuba. It was approved by the U.S. Treasury and Commerce departments of the U.S. government. This is the first time it has been approved since the trade embargo on Cuba, where they banned trade from the U.S. and Cuba. Though it is obviously stated that ferries are now open between here and there, there have not been any details as to what ferries in Florida. Still, Americans are not allowed to typically travel to Cuba for tourism because of the embargo still in place.
My reaction to this was a happy one. I remember the history lessons way back when talking about Fidel Castro and Cuba and how they were generally America's enemies. Now, little by little, Obama and the U.S. government is trying to "repair their relationship" with Cuba. This is good considering the U.S. wants to recruit more Allies. I am convinced that we are heading into the right direction when it comes to resolving past problems and turning them into todays peace. Some Americans may disagree with attempting to make peace with Cuba but I disagree.

Title: Obama's day: Nike and South Dakota

Obama has wrapped up his trip to all 50 states. One of the last appearances he made was at a Nike Headquarters in Oregon. He spoke to the workers saying he will help them with the free trade plan in today’s economy. He also went to South Dakota to speak to students at a college to inform them that he is working hard to get them a free two years at a community college. My reaction to this news is that I didn't know Obama traveled to all 50 states. To me that is amazing and on his last term it shows that he is still working hard. My opinion on him traveling to speak to people about different issues is a good idea. He's reaching out to all people and meeting their needs. A connection I can make is when presidential candidates travel across the country trying to get voters to vote for them while they speak on issues they would work on when or if they become president. Although, Obama cannot run for president again he surely is still making a big impact. Hopefully future presidents will do the same thing he is doing.

What do you think motivates Obama to keep working hard? He cannot run again, so what's in it for him? Why do we keep working hard when the stakes are not as high for him personally?

Ian Crozier was a doctor in Atlanta during the ebola crisis. Dr. Crozier winded up contracting the ebola virus. He was then treated and declared free of ebola in his blood. What the Dr. didn’t know is that the virus was still inside of him it is now in his eyes. While he was infected with the virus he was called the sickest of all the ebola patients.After he was treated he developed eye problems. His doctor then stuck a needle in his eye and removed some of the fluid so it could be tested. The fluid then tested positive meaning that the ebola virus was still living in his eye and giving him eye problems it also changed his eye color.I think that this is scary because it’s like now you can not get rid of the ebola virus. the virus will just move to a different part of the body. This also means that ebola could become an epidemic again and be the reason why people lose their lives. Even though the disease isn’t able to be spreaded through casual contact of the eye it is still scary. Ebola will also forever remain with the patient and give them eye problems in the long run.
