ReplyDeleteArticle Title: U.S. deploys troops to Africa
Article Date: Wed October 14, 2015
Who: U.S Military, President Obama, Boko Haram, and Michelle Baldanza.
Where: Cameroon Nigeria and other neighboring regions.
When: This past Month.
What happened: President Obama sent 90 U.S Military troops over to Cameroon in Nigeria to help them fight against an extremest group. The number of troops sent over will gradually increase as fighting progresses. They will be sent over to help "airborne intelligence, surveillance and other reconnaissance operations at the request and invitation of the Cameroonian government." The Boko Haram is trying to set motion the extreme version of Sharia Law.
Why this event is relevant: This is relevant because this has something to do with our government forces. They serve and protect our country and while they're over at another country they cannot serve and protect us.
Reaction: I feel neutral about this situation. I just hope this doesn't backfire and the Boko Haram comes and try to hurt our country.
Opinion: I think this is a smart decision for President Obama to do. Sometimes you have to help others in a time of need and maybe in the long run they'll return the favor. In this case President Obama could be risking the fact of hurting our troops but it's for a better cause.
Connection: I choose this article because this related to the discussion of our government forces constantly being sent out to war. And how our government forces help other countries when they need it.
I had not heard about this yet. Glad you posted about it.

10-14-15. International
President Obama was involved.
It began in U.S. and now taking place at Cameroon, a country in Africa.
This event happened on Monday.
The U.S. sent troops over Cameroon to help them and other governments in the area. President Obama wrote a letter to congress to inform them of the matter. He states that the soldiers are there until they are no longer needed. They are fighting a terrorists group called Boko Haram. They killed, wounded and kidnapped a lot of people. The U.S. are giving the those countries in the region as much assistance they may need moving forward. I feel like the U.S. should have made sure if those countries really need any assistance. If they don't then the U.S. is making those troops fight a fight that no one wants them to be apart of. If they did then that is fine. We along with the rest of those countries in that region should wipe that group out. I think that the U.S. needs to come up with a great plan to easily settle things once and for all. I could agree to this article. This is also very interresting.

ReplyDeleteArticle Title: Biden sounding more like a candidate to friends
Article Date: Mon October 5, 2015
Who: Joe Biden
Where: United States
When: 2015
What happened: Joe Biden the current vice president of the United States is leaning towards entering the the race. It was heard by some of Bidens close friends that they said he is thinking about running again. Biden is a favorite to win election if he decides to run according to surveys and polls.
Why this event is relevant: this is relevant due to the fact that this is our presidential debate. Our president is the one who runs our country so we should be choosing the right one to be in office.
Reaction: I would love if Biden entered the race. He obviously has experience in government being the VP of the United States of America.
Opinion: I think if he was to step in that he wouldn't win but would come close. My favorite candidates in this election are Clinton and Sanders due to their understandings of the common people's problems. It seems as they would handle our countries problems well.
Connection: I chose this article because people should know who is becoming the next president

ReplyDeleteArticle Title: U.S. deploys troops to Africa
Article Date: October 14, 2015
Who: U.S. troops
Where: Africa
When: 2015
What: Just recently president Obama came to the conclusion to send at least 90 troops to Africa. His decision to help was influenced by the governments in their areas battling extremist groups. He stated that they would be providing a lot of military assistance such as surveillance and airborne intelligence. The areas being affected by these groups are mainly Cameroon and other countries within West Africa These groups have taken the lives of 30 people and have left over 100 people wounded. In particular the Boko Haram of Nigeria are responsible for kidnapping and or killing innocent Nigerians. I believe this event is relevant because it's showing that our troops are lending a helping hand and also notifies Americans about some of what our troops are getting involved in. I actually feel like this was a good decision for President Obama to make. Although, we already are involved in enough conflict something is telling me their decision should have a positive outcome. I chose this article because i saw that it involved our U.S. troops and I was interested in knowing what the next thing they were getting involved in was.

Reaction My reaction was shocking and disappointed but in a was expected.
Opinion I think that he is childish and really has no space to talk down on anyone. Also he has a lot of supporters who copy everything he does and he knew they would follow in his footsteps. Hes a jerk.
Connection: I choose this article because Donald Trump interests me. Its always something with him and its irritating that he always ends up doing something wrong and gets praise for it. But i like keeping up with this president stuff.
